Fairlie, Gerard

Gerard Fairlie (1899-1983) was a British novelist who took over and developed the Bulldog Drummond series from Sapper (HC McNeile). He was born in London and educated at the Royal Military College. He served in the Scots Guards and was an Army boxing champion. He married Joan Roskell in 1923 and became a journalist and screenwriter. He was a member of the British bobsleigh team in France in 1924. In addition to the Drummond series Fairlie wrote series books about Victor Caryll, Johnny Macall and Mr Malcolm.
