I read Murders in Volume 2 a few years ago. It wasn't the worst mystery I've ever read, but both the story and its telling lacked the kind of urgency that make writers like Carr, Queen, Christie, Talbot, Breen and others so readable. Its leisurely blandness didn't make me want to rush out and hunt up other books by her.
