Milton Morris Propper (1906-1962) was an American writer of police procedurals in the style of Freeman Wills Crofts. He was born in Philadelphia in 1906 and educated at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1929 he was called to the Bar. He was a civil servant in Philadelphia and Atlanta. His series character Tommy Rankin is a detective in the Philadelphia Homicide Bureau. Propper committed suicide in 1962.
