Rice, Craig - The Sunday Pigeon Murders (1942)
The first of the Bingo and Handsome novels. Highly influenced by the work of Damon Runyon. According to some PR written up by Simon & Schuster Craig Rice wrote this book after an extensive "research" trip to Manhattan. A very fun book with a nicely developed detective story plot, lively characters and situations. Lots of hide the body business which is par for the course with Rice.
