![Wynne Anthony, ] - Murder In Thin Air (1932)

This book has a wonderful premise. A man goes up in an airplane, performs various intricate maneuvers, then crashes. All in full view of five spectators, including government air experts, and never out of sight. But when they rush to the wreckage, the pilot has been stabbed to death with a knife which was not even present in the plane when it began its flight. And he has also been shot, just for good measure. A marvelous problem only the solution is simply a ridiculous piece of twaddle. Essentially the observers, didn't observe because the sun was in their eyes. What a letdown in place of an actual solution.
