Innes, Michael -- Appleby Talks About Crime (2010)
Our 30th "Lost Classics" is now in print [at Crippen & Landru] -- a collection of the 18 previously uncollected Inspector Appleby stories by Michael Innes. It took us a long time to get full permission to publish the book, and we are proud to have done so. The volume also contains an essay on Appleby by Michael Innes, and a reminiscence of her father by Dr. Margaret Macintosh Harrison (Innes was the pen-name of John Innes Macintosh Stewart). And I hardly need tell members of this list that Innes was a major figure in the Golden Age.
