Peter Antony was the pseudonym jointly used by the twin brothers Anthony and Peter Schaffer (Peter: 1926-/Anthony: 1926-2001), who were born in Liverpool. Better-known as playwrights, they wrote several mysteries jointly and separately, some featuring the series character Mr Verity. Anthony Shaffer wrote the popular mystery play Sleuth, later filmed with Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier.
