Bowers, Dorothy


Dorothy Bowers (1902-1948) was an English writer, teacher and setter of crossword puzzles. She was born in Herefordshire and educated at the Monmouth School for Girls and Oxford University. Her first novel, Postscript to Poison, was published in 1938. Her series character was Inspector Dan Pardoe. She died of tuberculosis at age forty-six.
