Chambers, Whitman

Page history last edited by PBworks 13 years, 10 months ago

Elwyn Whitman Chambers (1896-1968) was an American author. Chambers sets several novels in the milieu of San Francisco Bay Area newspaper reporters. He rarely establishes definite locales, yet the evidence points to Oakland as the scene of most of the action.

~Randal Brandt

Whitman Chambers also published short stories in pulp magazines, and worked as a screenwriter.

The Campanile Murders, Murder for a Wanton, Once Too Often and The Come-On were all adapted into movies.
