Cohen, Octavus Roy

Octavus Roy Cohen (1891-1959) was an American writer of humour and detective stories. He was born in South Carolina and worked as a civil engineer and journalist before being admitted to the bar in 1913. He married Inez Loopez in 1914. In 1915 he became a full-time writer. His detectives are Florian Slappey, a 'coloured gentleman' and Jim Hanvey, an overweight detective.
