Lucy Cores (1912-2003) was an American mystery writer who later turned to historical romances. Two books feature ballet dancer Toni Ney, aided by NY detective Anthony Torrent.
Lucy Cores was born in Moscow in 1912. Her family fled Russia after the Communist revolution and she arrived in tne USA in 1921. Her family were musical (her son is the guitarist Danny Kortchmar). She married Emil Kortchmar in 1942 and moved to Larchmont, New York, moving in to Manhattan after his death in 1990. Her mystery writing career began and ended in the 1940s.

The DBC, at least, also includes THE MISTY CURTAIN (1964) in its October, 1964 volume.

And, of interest at least, if not bibliographic interest, Cores was an editor at the DBC for an unspecified -- in MURDER BY MAIL -- time.
