Sydney Hobson Courtier was an Australian writer. He was born in Kangaroo Flat and educated at the University of Melbourne. He married Audrey Jennie George in 1932 and was a school teacher and principal until his retirement in 1969. His series characters were Digger Haig and Ambrose Mahon.

Some of Courtier's books have been reissued by the Wakefield Press.
