Richard Deming (1915-1983) was an American pulp writer who specialised in spin-off novels from TV series. He also wrote as Nick Morino and Max Franklin, and ghosted ten Ellery Queen novels. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa and educated at Central College Missouri and Washington University St. Louis. He married Ruth DuBois in 1948. His series characters were Manville (Manny) Moon and Matt Rudd.
