A Channing Edington and his wife Carmen Ballen Edington were American writers. Carmen may have grown up in Santa Cruz, where she sang for the local operatic society in Neptune Park with the young Zasu Pitts (see here for details). The Studio Murder Mystery was made into a 1929 film with Chester Conklin. Harry Edington (a son?) was a producer for Alfred Hitchcock.
