| Marie Adelaide Belloc Lowndes (1868-1947) was an English author of plays, stories and crime fiction. She was a suffragist and the sister of writer Hilaire Belloc. She came from a literary family and her husband, Frederic Sawrey Lowndes, was a journalist. She also wrote non-fictional crime studies. Her best-known book, The Lodger (1913) is a fictionalisation of the Ripper murders. It can be found at Project Gutenberg with other Lowndes works. |
