Stout, Rex - Plot it Yourself (1959) aka Murder in Style

Publishers and writers are worried -- there has been a rash of plagiarism claims against successful authors. Five have paid up already, and now a sixth is threatened. A joint committee approaches Wolfe for help in stopping what is obviously a concerted plot. Wolfe begins to investigate, but the mastermind responds with multiple murders.

The detection is minimal, based on a single observation, but Wolfe and Archie are in their usual fine form and Stout fires off a few shots at both authors and publishers. A little more gory than most Wolfe investigations but well up to scratch.
